Joshua’s Showers of Mercy
Named in honor of the Founder’s son Joshua, who had a heart for the hungry, thirsty, and naked which are represented in homeless communities throughout the United States. He lost his battle to an all too powerful heroin addiction but his legacy continues by offering showers, restrooms and basic necessities to the homeless which includes many who suffer from addiction. We are giving a voice to those who die from a senseless overdose through a YouTube channel started by Joshua’s Father “Voices for the Overdosed“.
Sick & Elderly
We will begin outreaches in the near future to visit the sick in hospitals and the dying in hospice care and bring comfort and love to those individuals. In many hospitals today, some elderly patients have nobody ever, or in the best case, rarely comes to see them. We will also minister to the stranger by visiting nursing homes and assisted living centers. The joy that time brings to the elderly who starve for affection and fellowship is priceless.
Incarcerated
Our final outreach will be to those incarcerated in state and federal prisons. They too need hope and encouragement despite the crime they committed. All human beings deserve a second chance and to be loved as they journey down the road of redemption. Fellowship from outside the walls can bring hope and comfort. We will use our volunteer base to partner and support existing prison ministries
Who We Are
We are a non-profit mobile ministry based in Texas that partners with the private sector and faith-based communities to help the homeless transition from dependence to independence. We utilize our mobile showers and restrooms to reach the unsheltered and bring them dignity, hope and basic necessities. This allows us the privilege to earn their trust and build a relationship which ultimately opens the door to their hearts and gives us the opportunity to serve them where they live.
We will expand our outreaches in the future to include giving emotional support to the sick and dying, comfort to the elderly who live in nursing homes or assisted living facilities and hope to those who are incarcerated.
MISSION: We are a non profit organization based in Texas who partners with the private sector and faith-based communities to provide real change to those who are homeless by reaching them where they live with showers, restrooms, and basic necessities. We will expand our outreach to include giving emotional support for the sick and dying, comfort to the elderly who live in nursing homes or assisted living centers, and hope to those incarcerated.
VISION: Our goal is to create a model that can be replicated throughout the country without neglecting government assistance financially but not implementing their methodology as a solution to these issues we face in our society.
VALUES: We respect and serve all people regardless of race, religion, creed or ethnicity but unbashful and boldly adhere, implement and share the love of God and the power of the Holy Spirit to change lives through faith in Christ.
